Kea – A Cycladic Gateway Close to Athens

Kea (Tzia) is a favorite weekend getaway for Athenians — and for good reason. It's the first Cycladic island after Cape Sounio and Lavrio port, offering calm anchorages, quaint towns, and quick access to Athens International Airport if needed.

⚓ Korissia & Vourkari

Kea has two main harbors: Korissia (the ferry port) and Vourkari (yacht-friendly), less than 1nm apart. Both provide water, fuel, and tavernas. Vourkari is often preferred for its ambiance and mooring in front of restaurants.

⚓ Koundouros

Excellent overnight anchorage with natural protection and tavernas ashore.

ℹ️ Sandy bottom | Calm in meltemi

⚓ Spathi

Remote cove with turquoise water and great swimming. Less sheltered.

ℹ️ Open to E winds | Great for lunch stops

Ioulida: The hilltop capital is romantic and quiet. Take a taxi or bus from Korissia (~15 min). Dinner next to the old town hall with Mavroudi wine is unforgettable.
